Within WALKING DISTANCE of CEIBWR BAY and the famous PEMBROKESHIRE COASTAL PATH where there is the MOST DRAMATIC and STUNNING COASTAL SCENERY. Locally many rare and interesting species of wild life can be observed such as DOLPHIN, SEALS, PORPOISES, TURTLES, BASKING SHARKS and even WHALES on occasion. FREQUENT SITINGS of the RED KITE circling over the cottage and its garden.

Tucked away down a level 70m drive the cottage has almost an acre of private garden with swings and trampoline for the children.

Situated between the The bustling, Market Town of CARDIGAN and the pretty coastal village of NEWPORT there is are wide variety of shops, restaurants, galleries, theatre/cinema and bars to explore. Within four miles are the two excellent sandy beaches of Newport and Poppit sands. Within 7 miles there is also Mwnt and Aberport Beaches to the North or to the South Pwrthgwylog bay with a fabulous Restaurant the Old Sailors and Dinas Head (lovely walk).
With historical sites and castles to visit, an immense variety of rare wildlife to see, numerous local outdoor activities, theatres, art galleries and craft trails.

Within 5 Miles there are NUMEROUS LOCAL ACTIVITIES such as HORSE RIDING over the Preselis or on the beach at Newport, GOLF at Newport and Gwbert, COASTEERING at Aberieddy, KYAKING and CANOEING down the Tivy or at our local BEAUTY SPOT of CEIBWR BAY just over a mile from Hafod Villa. The NEWPORT BOATCLUB, Sea or fresh water FISHING both in the Tivy or Nevern SCUBA DIVING at Fishguard, Boat trips.

The BEAUTIFUL and VARIED LANDSCAPE offers WONDERFUL WALKING, HIKING along the FAMOUS PEMBROKESHIRE COASTAL PATH, over the PRESELI MOUNTAINS, down the BEAUTIFUL GWAUN VALLEY, CYCLING and MOUNTAIN BIKING.

FOR ART LOVERS there are local THEATRES, CINEMAS and seasonal OPEN AIR PRODUCTIONS at wonderful Cilgerran Castle and St. Dogmaels Abbey. At Newport, Cardigan and Fishguard there are many ART AND CRAFT GALLERIES AND EXHIBITIONS TO VISIT. wITH CRAFT TRAILS and HANDS ON ceramics workshops in the area there is always something to do

With HISTORICAL PLACES OF INTERESTS locally such as the CASTEL HENLLYS Iron Age Fort, nearby are CROMLECH or ANCIENT BURIAL CHAMBERS; PENTRE IFAN at BRYNBERIAN, or on the PRESELIS at NEWPORT, ST DOGMAELS ABBEY and visitors centre, CILGERRAN CASTEL and spectacular gorge, NEVERN CHURCHYARD with it's BLEEDING YEW and CELTIC CROSS, beautiful CENARTH WATER FALLS with excellent trout and salmon fishing (in season). Further afield is the DELIGHTFUL ST. DAVIDS Cathedral City.

FOR CHILDREN (or adults) Other than the wonderful beaches with rockpools and caves to explore. Visit the Wildlife Centre at Cilgerran, The Shire Horse Farm at Eglwswyrw, Cardigan Island Farm (spot the seals and pet the goats), Indoor inflatables at Cardigan, Childrens Theatre productions or Cinema at Mwldan Theatre in Cardigan, further afield is OAKWOOD theme park (around 45 mins drive) well worth the visit for anyone Teenage at heart. Spot the Mammoth at Castel Henllys. Gosh and there is just so much more to see and do. (see a calf being born in the field next door if you are lucky! Lots of rabbits, badgers, squirrels, foxes and martins to spot if you have a keen eye.

Hafod Villa makes AN IDEAL LOCATION FOR TOURING being a short distance from THE BORDERS OF THREE COUNTIES OF CEREDIGION (Cardiganshire), CARMARTHENSHIRE AND PEMBROKESHIRE:

CEREDIGION visit the charming village of Aberaeron or the spectacular sandy beaches of Mwnt and Aberporth. The University Town of Aberystwyth is around an hour north with some lovely scenery inbetween.

CARMARTHENSHIRE: Delightful market town of Newcastle Emlyn, Cenarth, Velindre Farchog with it's ancient Mill and Crafts Centre. Carmarthen with it's market, historical centre.
